Virgin Atlantic Presents Seattle Reignmaker 2017

The countdown begins. In a few weeks, I’ll be boarding a flight from Seattle to London with Virgin Atlantic to celebrate their inaugural non-stop flight out of London. I'll be one of several awesome Seattle Reignmakers who will experience this flight and tour the city of London. How cool is that (the travel bug in me has me jumping up and down right now)! Plus, I heard they have a DJ on some of these inaugural flights. And not to mention, the team is hooking us up with flatbeds! First time for everything.

One of the ways I manage my travels is by putting together a bucket list of cool things I want to do, eat, and see while I'm there. About 7 years ago (wow, i feel old), I had the opportunity to visit Paris, France for a family wedding. Still thinking about that seared Foie gras... yum. The things that stood out while I was there is the appreciation for art, architecture and food. As a first timer in London, I've put together a Bucket List of top things that I want to check off along with a few that my friends recommended. If you're looking for apps to do this, check out BUCKiTDREAM. A great way to manage and share your bucket list recommendations with people all over the world. If I missed any good ones, send me a DM on Instagram or Tweet me.

  • Barrafina, Benares, Glasshouse, Hakkasan

This list could probably go for days, so I'll stop here and see how many of these I can check off.Comment below if i missed any musts. London seems very similar to Seattle in the way it's an epicenter for movers and shakers to convene to innovate, build and grow businesses. Aside from seeing all of the major sites such as Buckingham Palace and the London Eye, I'm even more excited to explore the culinary treasures and cocktail bars this city has to offer. A friend did say the LEDBURY is the best restaurant in London.

Ye Olde London is a delightful 18th century pub situated on Ludgate Hill in the City of London close to the spectacular St Paul’s cathedral. It was originally built in 1749 on the site of an old London Coffee House where all the leading people of the time would meet to debate all the new scientific and philosophical theories of the day including Joseph Priestley and Benjamin Franklin.

My mind is blown just looking at this photo. The detail is magnificent. In this day and age, architecture is shaped like a box.

History lesson: The London Underground (also known simply as the Underground, or by its nickname the Tube) is a public rapid transit system serving Greater London and some parts of the adjacent counties of Buckinghamshire, Essex and Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom. The world's first underground railway, the Metropolitan Railway, which opened in 1863, is now part of the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines; the first line to operate underground electric traction trains, the City & South London Railway in 1890, is now part of the Northern line. The network has expanded to 11 lines, and in 2015–16 carried 1.34 billion passengers, making it the world's 11th busiest metro system. The 11 lines collectively handle approximately 4.8 million passengers a day.

Starting March 23rd - 27th, I'll be documenting my adventure on Instagram and on Snapchat (see code below) with posts marked #virginatlantic and #letitfly. I'll be bringing my Leica and my Snapchat Spectacles to give you some cool 360 shots. You can find me at charles.seattle or scan the snapcode below. I'm a bit obsessive about travel and technology so you may feel like you're there right next to me, hope you enjoy!
